Billie Lu Ray, 84, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on June 13, 1930 in Wichita, Kansas. While working as a bookkeeper, she fell in love with a handsome Air Force Captain and they married in 1969. Shortly after, their military service relocated the family to Burkburnett, Texas. She is preceded in passing by her mother: Helen V. Smith. Billie is survived by her loving husband of 45 ½ years, Jimmy L. Ray Daughters: Debra von Essen and Lori O'Banion. Grandchildren: Phillip and Timothy O'Banion, Trina Mann, Stefani Mann, Melani Mann, James E. Mann III, & Kimbra Sparks. Great-Grandchildren: Carynn, Mya, Elisha, Joshua, Ashlyn, & Caitlyn O'Banion and Violet Harlow Sparks.
It was Billie's life mission to touch the lives of others with the word of the Lord. She supported and was active in the World Bible School. Her final resting place will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that spiritual donations be made in Billie's name to the World Bible School at P.O. Box 2169 Cedar Park, TX 78630 or at https://give.worldbibleschool.net
