Bruce Hicks 84 of San Antonio passed away surrounded by his family at 1:49 A.M. on March 6, 2012. Bruce was born in Utopia, TX January 10, 1928. He was one of seven children born to Junius and Sarah Hicks. He served in the US Marines from 1946 - 1947. He went to work for KTSA Radio where he met the love of his life Kathryn Hathaway. They were married in November 1948 and they were together for 58 years. They had three daughters and a son. Bruce went on to work and retire from KENS 5 Television as a Communications Engineer with over 36 years of dedicated service. Bruce is survived by his twin daughters Karen Dell and Sharon Kay Hicks, daughter Cheryl Hicks Bullion; son Bruce Allen Hicks and daughter-in-law Kristyn; brothers James and wife Roseann Hicks, Vernon and wife Lola Hicks; grandchildren Justin Bullion, Matthew Bullion, Benjamin Allen Hicks, Zachry Allen Hicks; step-grandchildren Kaelyn, Shelby, Jillyan, Brandon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service
Visitation will begin Sunday, March 11, 2012, from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral services will be Monday, March 12, 2012 at 12:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Interment to follow at Tarpley Cemetery in Tarpley, TX.
