Eric Salazar Obituary
Mr. Eric Noel Salazar passed away of natural causes on December 19, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 54. Eric was born to John and Gloria Salazar. Eric was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Noel Salazar.
A Bexar County Deputy Sheriff from 1985 untill he retired in 2011, Eric was very dedicated to his duty.
Since 1986, when he provided security for the local Muscular Dystrophy Telethon, Eric volunteered at many events.
Later as community affairs officer for the Deputy Sheriff's Association, Eric worked on Night Out, Safe Halloween, Papal visit, MLK March and bringing Deputy Bunny, Deputy Dave, and Sheriff Claus to children's homes/hospitals.
Upon retiring, Eric became a hobby welder and also, a budding gardener planting flowering plants, and vegetables.
Eric is survived by his son, Kody Salazar, daughter Crystal, uncle George Tamez, brother Carlos J. Salazar (Luisa), sisters, Elsa Salazar Cade (Bill), Edith Esparza (George). Nieces, Angela (Mike), Tamez (Frank), Davina (Jason), Celenda (Albert) Cherise (Ted) nephews Christopher (Helen) Stephen (Corina), grand nieces and nephews.

Eric, One of the guys I'll always remember from my years with the BCSO. Always helpful when needed, not only to me but to also those he trained. It was a sad day when he retired because we lost a very good officer, then sadder when I heard he was gone. Until we see each other again Eric, rest in peace.
