Jill Jones Obituary
Jill D. Alexander Jones, 60, a native of Marshall, TX died Tuesday, August 14, 2012. She was a resident of San Antonio, TX for 35 years. She retired from South San Antonio ISD in 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Emma Ruth Alexander. The loss of her earthly companionship will be mourned by her husband Ronald E. Jones; her daughter, Laiah Carter (Mark, Sr. )San Antonio , TX; her son Dr. Gregory Jones (Nadine) Las Vegas, NV; grandson, Mark Carter, Jr. brothers, Franklin, D. Alexander of Silver Spring, MD; and Rev. Curtis B. Alexander of Beaumont, TX; sister-in laws Dr. Joyce Alexander of Beaumont, TX; Carolyn Jones of Dallas, TX; and Gaye Woods of Aurora, CO; one brother-in law. Michael Jones of Forth Worth, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at New Life Christian Center on Monday, August 20, 2012 starting at 11:30 with Funeral Services beginning at 1:30p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

My deepest condolences to the Jones family. Jill was a wonderful educator to my son 3 years ago when my son was in her Kinder class. My mother Virginia Luebano also worked at Athens and spoke nothing but great things about her and actually helped my son get into her class during the school year. God bless this wonderful woman and again my deepest condolences. My son and I are heartbroken to hear of the loss. May she rest in peace .

Mrs. Jones was my kindergarten teacher 25 years ago and my daughters reading teacher 8 years ago. Thank you for planting that seed in us that is still growing and will never stop. I will always remember Sis Jill as a graceful dancer. I use to give her pears and pecans from my trees and she loved them! Praying for her family and I know she will continue to dance for the Lord. As she use to call me, Mother Irene.

Jill was a blessing to children in her classroom and the educators who worked with her. She always had a kind word or a word of encouragement for everyone. She is missed at Athens Elementary, however, she will remain in our hearts. May God's grace help the family during this difficult time.

Mrs. Jones was my kindergarten teacher 25 years ago, I have never forgotten her and all that she taught me as well as everyhing she taught to the growing future of our community. I am praying for the family during this most difficult time of loss. Jill will be greatly missed by all of the classmates of PHS Class of '70. Her friendship and love for her classmates continued far beyond the Halls of Pemberton as we looked forward to her smiling face and warm embrace at each reunion. We can all be encouraged and inspired by Jill's life, knowing that she has gradutated from an earthly life to an eternal life where commencement has already begun.
