Joe Araiza Obituary

ARAIZA
Joe G. Araiza, born January 14, 1925, went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2012, at the blessed age of 87. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Eva T. Araiza. He is loved and will be missed by his children Elva Cortez (George), Joe Araiza, Jr. (Leslie), Lydia Dalton (Darren), Albert Araiza, Diane Gonzales (Carlos) and Elaine Araiza (Leroy), sister Maria Sotelo as well as 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Joe served his country honorably as a member of the US Navy in World War II and was awarded this Phillipine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze star, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze stars, Navy Occupation Medal with Asia Clasp and the World War II Victory Medal. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten. Visitation will begin Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 1pm with a rosary to be recited at 7pm. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 9am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Services under the direction of Castillo Mission Funeral Home.
