Julio Garcia Obituary
Julio Garcia was called by our Lord on October 21, 2013, at the age of 76 years old. He was born to Guadalupe and Nicolasa Garcia on November 13, 1936, in New Braunfels, Texas. He graduated from Edgewood High School in 1956, and then proudly served in the United States Air Force Reserve from 1956 to 1964. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Nicolasa Garcia, and sister Guadalupe "Lupita" Garcia. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Yolanda E. Garcia, children Julio Jr. (Helen), Andrew (Rosalinda), Sandra, John (Connie) and grandchildren Roxy, Olivia, Joseph, Isabella, Thomas and Patrick. He is also survived by his sisters Rosa Ybarra and Alice Garza and numerous nieces and nephews. Julio founded Garcia's Mexican Food in 1962 located on Fredericksburg Road. Garcia's Mexican Food has now been open for 51 years serving delicious Mexican food to four generations of loyal friends and family. An avid music lover, he loved Conjunto music and taught himself to play the accordion. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM at Castillo Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, October 24, 2013, at 10:00 AM at St. Jude Catholic Church with interment to follow at San Fernando No. 2.

My condolences to the whole family and I'm sorry for your loss. Mr. Garcia was a great neighbor, when we lived next door to him. He loved being in the yard and working in his little shop. I will never forget the laughter we shared over the fence. Mr. Garcia rest in peace and hope you get to be with Uncle Julio in heaven and ride horses again.

I will remember Mr. Garcia as a very nice and polite Gentleman. I enjoyed having him as a client in the food business as one of my customers. He showed a lot of pride in his restaurant and was always concerned about the best for his customers. He will be remembered by the community as a fair and honest man. I feel honored to have known Mr. Garcia. My deepest condolences go out to the family.
