I was devastated to learn of Melvyn's passing. I did not learn from the message on my cell phone of Melvyn's death until Friday May 29th, the day after the funeral service. Therefore, I did not attend Melvyn's funeral. For this I am truly sorry. I first met Melvyn during 1965. We served in the United States Air Force Reserve, assigned to the 433rd Troop Carrier Wing at Kelly AFB in San Antonio, TX. We soon became the best of friends, sharing in our common interests of stereo equipment, classical music, and pipe organ. Over the years Melvyn and Stephanie made many trips to visit Lenore and me at our home in Friendswood, TX. We too visited them and their wonderful family at their home in San Antonio, TX. We had so many special and fun times together. I will never forget those spectacular Christmas parties! Melvyn, like Stephanie, was such a generous person, always going above and beyond to help and serve others. During an especially difficult time during my life, Melvyn and Stephanie stood by me, as only true friends would do. For that I am forever grateful. I am truly blessed to have had Melvyn as my friend. During this very difficult time, my prayers and sympathy are with you. I know in my heart that God has a very special place in Heaven for Melvyn. In Jesus' Name, may God bless you, comfort you, give you peace and joy, as well as all of those that were so privileged to have known Melvyn.
