TIMOTHY DELAHUNT Obituary

Timothy John Delahunt, entered eternal rest on November 7th, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas, after a brief battle with COVID-19.
He was born in Glendale, California to Ray and Irene Delahunt, on May 24, 1966. He graduated from Our Lady Queen of Angels Seminary and College Preparatory in Mission Hills, California. While attending the Seminary minor, he acquired lifelong friendships among the young men he met at the school.
He was an Air Force veteran. Timothy enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. He enjoyed tinkering with his 1967 Thunderbird. He will be remembered for his kindness, humility and sense of humor. He was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church and began his ministry as a greeter at the church, as well as the Knights of Columbus.
Timothy was a 28-year veteran of VIA Metropolitan Transit and worked as a bus operator. He was well liked by many of the other operators and patrons. He had seen so many families ride the VIA buses.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marcia, his parents and his sisters Ellen (Martin) Rea, Cindy (Jun) Tumacay and Jennifer (Doug) Sanders. His sons Jordan Ray, Timoteo Andres, Luke Lorenzo, Jacob Daniel and Isaiah John. His daughters Jasmine Ashley, Shavonne, Rosabel Angelita and Corazón Micaela. His grandchildren Lucian and Baby Roberts. He is survived by his nephews, Jon, Alexander, Gavin, Owen, Zach and JordenJaymes. His nieces Melissa, Madeleine, Alyssa, LilyDiamond and JazmynePearl. And his faithful canines Fifi Wiggles and B.B. King Delahunt.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Ray and Helen Delahunt, and his maternal grandparents, Claude and Rachel Montgomery.
FUNERAL SERVICES
A Rotating visitation with the family will take place on Monday, November 16, 2020 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm in The Angelus Funeral Home Chapel, which has a capacity of 100 persons.
Due to current health restrictions, funeral services will be held privately on Tuesday for immediate family only. However, the Rosary and Mass will be live streamed on the St. Clare Catholic Church Facebook page, stclaresatx.net with the Rosary beginning at 10:30A.M. followed by Mass at 11:00A.M.
Private graveside services will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Baptist Downtown for the care they all bestowed on Tim. Dr. Moran, Dr. Mallory, his nighttime nurse Ms. Toy. But most especially we would like to thank his nurse Samantha, who so lovingly held his hand when his family could not be there for his final moments.

Tim was a calming positive force in our class at Queen of Angels Seminary. He also could play a mean game of hoop. While I regret not seeing him for years, I could never think of him without a smile. His words about ‘love’ posted in this obituary are profound. I’ll hope he prays for us as heaven’s latest saint. Thanks for your example, Tim.

I saw a VIA bus today with your name displayed on it, and wondered why. So I Googled it, and found out you passed away from COVID-19 recently. I never knew you, but read your obituary, and now feel so deeply for your family and two dogs left behind. Sending out heartfelt prayers and good thoughts that somehow they feel your spirit is with them, Timothy. That kind of love you showed everyone while here doesn't go away. You will always be remembered.

Well, Timmy... I'll miss waving at you when our buses crossed paths. And I'll definitely miss your smile and easy-going sense of humor, which I was so fortunate to experience off and on since 1992.
VIA has lost SO many fine operators who we'll never be able to forget. You're among a long list who faded away FAR too soon. But we'll meet again. Till that time, have a great New Life.

Ahhh Timmy you were the best nephew an aunt could have. Losing my daughter Rachel and then you were a punch to my heart. We didn’t get to see each other often. We texted and talked a lot of spiritual ways and alternative healing. It was nice you excepted my beliefs without lectures. I will always remember you as the most kind, loving person in our family. Uncle Tim,
The past few days have been filled with so much love and wonderful memories of you. You truly made an impact with everyone you encountered. I am so thankful for all the special moments we have shared through the years. I will always remember how much you cared and made sure everyone felt so genuinely loved. I will remember how excited you were to take us to the Eureka snow and hot springs in Idaho. I loved hearing about your childhood memories with your siblings-never a dull moment for you. I will miss our little conversations and all the crazy things you would say or pestering me about being “too young” for just about anything you saw on social media.
You fought as hard as you could. I know you are home safe now. Continue to watch over us all and one day we will all be reunited together again.

My deepest condolences to Marcy and to Tim’s children his parents ,sisters and extended family. Tim brought happiness to my sister Marcy. He taught her how to smile again. He brought joy into her life when she needed it the most. He was her rock and her best friend. Tim was a sweet man. His parents should know that they raised a wonderful man. I haven’t seen my cousin Tim in years but I have very fond memories of him and will always remember him as my gentle giant California cousin. I always enjoyed listening to grandmas stories of the trips to Vegas, joke’s Tim used to tell her and the pranks he pulled on her. My deepest condolences to his entire family!

Marcy, my deepest condolences to you and your family. I met Mr. Delahunt long long ago when his son Jordan was in my kindergarten classroom. He was a kind and gentle soul.
