William Borchers Obituary
William Henry Borchers, age 87, a long time New Braunfels Attorney, passed away Sunday January 2, 2011. He was born August 13, 1923 in Lavaca County, Texas to Willie M. and Mary (Schaeg) Borchers. He married Joyce Word June 30, 1956. She preceded him in death March 1, 1991. Survivors include 2 daughters, Marcia McGlothlin and husband Forrest of New Braunfels, and Bonnie Duettra and husband Andy of Santa Fe, New Mexico; 3 brothers, Dr. Charles Borchers of Victoria, Texas, O.R. "Jimmy" Borchers and wife Betty Ann of Yoakum, Texas, and Marion "Jack" Borchers and wife Robbie of New Braunfels; brother-in-law, Tim D. Word and wife Suzanne of San Antonio; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Visitation will be at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels on Thursday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday January 7, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in New Braunfels. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be given to, Bible Study Fellowship, 19001 Huebner Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78258 or to the Baylor Law School, Sheila & Walter Umphrey Law Center, 1114 South University Parks Dr., One Bear Place #97288, Waco, Texas 78798.

I am so thankful that God brought "Mr. B" into my life. He was like a Grandpa to me me. My tutor, my personal comedian, and the sunshine in my life. I am so glad I got to spend everyday with him for more than a year now. He made going to work everyday a true joy, and I could have listened to his stories forever. I will miss him soo much, and will never ever forget him, and the joy he brought into my life daily. "Until we meet again Hot Rod" keep smiling!

Bill Borchers was a true gentleman. He would always stop by and say hello when he was in the courthouse. He had a caring nature and warm smile that will be missed.

We will miss a great man and good ranch neighbor to us in Cordele.I surely believe the family will continue to be stewards of the land.Nice large tracts of land are becoming lost to wildlife &the planet. Thank you for your care.
