I wish you were here to meet the man I am going to marry. I wish you were here , but I know you are with me. I keep photos of you to remind me everyday how special you always were to me. I know when I talk out loud to you , you are there to hear me. I wish you could be here to see how much I succeeded in life. But I know you are with me. I love and miss you grandma and grandpa.

I love and miss you every day grandpa! Tell grandma I love her and you are my best friend!! You made all my days. Without you I am nothing, with you I was everything. But I love you always and forever and I can´t wait to see you and grandma again. Continue to guide me from above. I need your love.

Charlie ("Grandpa" to me),
You and Grandma were such an enormous part of my childhood and you both influence me still every day. I remember sitting in the garage with you in the evenings around age 5 talking about and keeping watch for "flying horses," and the day you taught me to ride my first bike on the Sycamore elementary blacktop - A yellow Stingray with a banana seat, a classic now! haha! And I remember the endless fleet of go-karts you built for me. I still remember hiding under the coffee table and watching cartoons and nascar with you in the mornings with an enormous bowl of cereal, and all the times we went fishing at Santee lakes; we never caught a thing but it was worth every moment. After we moved away I didn't get to see you as much but you and Grandma always answered the phone when I called and it reminded me that I was missed and loved. I've always looked up to you, and chose the Navy because of you. You were tough as nails. I remember the last time I saw you and how proud I felt to be a sailor, like you. The best part is, you were always pulling my leg, and making laugh and giving me a reason to be happy and enjoy myself. I could never truly express the gratitude I feel for having you and Grandma in my life. Rest in Peace now, and tell Grandma I miss her and her many care packages even still.
All of my Love, Jeremy

I remember Charlie from the lab at Scripps Research. He was a kind and hard working man. He spoke often of his granddaughter and family. I remember his tremendous grief after loosing his wife. I never really understood until I lost my husband of 42 years. Condolences to the family.
