Jesse Appleman

APPLEMAN Jesse Willard Appleman, 82, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Huston Nursing Home in Hamden. He was born October 31, 1926, in Vinton County, son of the late Lindsay and Zelma Barnett Appleman. Jesse was a WWII Army Veteran, a lifetime member of the McArthur VFW Post #5299, a lifetime member of the Wellston American Legion Post #0371, a member of the Delta Masonic Lodge #207 in McArthur and a member of Moose Lodge # 1569 in Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 49 years; daughters, Martha (Skip), Donna (Bill), Alicia (Craig) and Carleen (Darrell); several grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Delores Atwood. In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by a son Philip Appleman and a grandson Jesse Bidwell. Jesse's request was to be cremated. No calling hours will be observed. A time of remembrance will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009, at the McArthur VFW Post #5299, 401 Veterans Memorial Drive, McArthur.
