Elizabeth Bear Obituary

Elizabeth Golino Bear
1944 - 2011
Resident of Lake Arrowhead
A loving mother and grandmother passed away on September 22nd, 2011 at the age of 67. Liz was born in Boulder, Colorado on March 24th, 1944, but she always insisted she was a native Californian. She grew up in Encino, CA and during her senior year of high school spent a year in Italy with her parents and seven (soon to be eight) siblings. She attended UCLA and studied English Literature. She was married to James Bear in 1964 and they settled in Tustin, CA where they raised their three children. She finally retired to Lake Arrowhead, CA. Above all else, Liz loved her family; she was a loving mother, patient teacher and awesome grandmother who made the world around her more beautiful. She had a lifelong passion for building and architecture and her love of place was summed up perfectly at the family's cabin in Capitola, CA. Surviving are her daughter, Doreen Trenholm and husband Mike; son, Matthew Bear and wife, Jennifer; son, Stephen Bear and wife, Anneka, and her seven grandchildren, Charlie, Willie, Rosie, Lizzie, Arabella, Eloise and Owen. A memorial will be held on October 15th, for inquiries please email [email protected]
