Ruth Jones Obituary

Ruth Jones, 62 passed away at her Gilroy home where she had lived for 22 years on February 4, 2010 from cancer. She is survived by her fiancé, Bobby Lowery, her son Vincent Beal, and grandson, Tony Beal and fiancé Dulce Alonso, all of Gilroy, granddaughters, Rayann Beal of Santa Cruz and Tatayan Beal of Temecula, her mother, Arvella Jones-Owen , Kansas City, MO, and step-mother Tonnie Buffington of Camden, Arkansas. She is also survived by siblings, Ray (Sally) Buffington, McNeil, AR, Shirley Darrette, Las Vegas, Wanda Fay Williams, Bernetta Owens-Taylor, Jerry Jerome Owens, and Roberta Rayford, all of Kansas Ciry, MO, and James Buffington, Pearl Buffington-Falls, Patricia Buffington Patie, Aundra, John and Patrick Buffington, and Lisa Buffington Dishrome, all of Camden, AR. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Buffington who died in 2009.
A native of McNeil, Arkansas, she graduated from McNeil High School. A resident of Santa Cruz over 20 years, she worked with Project Head Start and later worked as a bus driver for the Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District for 30 years. Funeral services will be held at the Garfield Circle Church, Errett Circle, Santa Cruz on Wednesday, February 10 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation for family and friends will be at Santa Cruz Memorial Mission Chapel on Tuesday 1-7 PM. Interment will be in the St. Matthew Baptist Church Cemetery, McNeil, Arkansas.
