MICHAEL VIGIL Obituary
Our "Guardian Angel on Earth's" wings took flight when God called him home early on Monday March 21st. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a loving and truly dedicated husband, father, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, and great uncle. He lived an honorable and virtuous life resplendent with a special devotion to Our Blessed Mother, and a lifetime study and knowledge of our Catholic Saints and theology. Humble in his presence with family and friends, upon visiting and before leaving he would ask that we circle in prayer. A graduate of St. Michael's High School and New Mexico State, he retired as an electrical engineer with Kirtland Air Force Base. He then became a dedicated teacher at CNM and UNM where he taught Math, and G.E.D in Spanish. He also served St. Joseph's Parish by teaching CDC classes.
He is predeceased by his parents, Juan L. Vigil and Corrine; his siblings, Emily, Andrew and Genie-Boy Vigil. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth and children Monica, and Nathaniel. Siblings, George Vigil (Elisa), David, Christina, Virginia, and Lucinda Vigil; many nieces and nephews. Michael headed the family Trust with the respect and deference to our father that gives us all a strong sense of pride and honor in him.
Services to be at Cristo Rey Church April 28th rosary 12:30, mass 1:00, burial to follow at National Cemetery.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MICHAEL VIGIL
The day I died, March 21, 2022, I went to heaven, instead of having God's presence within my soul, I had his presence all around me; It was so beautiful and peaceful that I cried and then I felt the absence of me; With sorrow and pain I asked for God's peace and came to realize that the absence of me was really the absence of all of you, for I am an extension of you and you of me; So I renewed my vows of love for you, to love, honor and respect you for all eternity; Because God's presence is in the souls of everyone on earth, I too am bound to you through God; When you are sad I am sad, when you are happy I am happy; when you feel love I feel love and all that you need shall be here in heaven waiting for you when it is time for you to enter eternity with me; May the pain of my absence diminish into fond and loving memories of a time gone by and please know that I live within you with God's peace all around you.
My deepest and sincerest condolences to the entire family. May my primo Rest in Eternal LOVE, may our Creator comfort and bless us through this tremendous loss. I LOVE us.

My cousin always had such a soft spoken nature about him. He would come and see my mom after he visited his mom's grave. His stories will always be with me. May his loving spirit and God's grace surround his family and give them comfort while they grieve for him. He was an exceptional man.

My love and prayers to the Vigil Family. Michael was a rare person. Always kind, loving, faithful man. It will be so hard for all of you not to be able to spend time with him but you know he is on his journey. I personally will miss the fact that he is no longer their to visit his sisters. I will be with you in spirit and love as you celebrate his life.
