Sharon Bruce Obituary

SHARON BRUCE Sharon (Hall) Bruce, of Santa Fe, died of sudden heart failure on Thursday, March 19, 2015. Sharon was born in Dallas, Texas on January 5, 1949 to John Hall, Jr. and Doris (Kinnard) Hall. She grew up in San Angelo, Texas and Durham, North Carolina. She had especially fond memories of her time in Durham. She graduated from San Angelo Central High School, and attended college and business school. She was a secretary and legal assistant for many years. She and her husband Jim were married in Santa Fe on February 22, 1985. Sharon was unique. She could immediately size up people, and knew the good guys from the bad guys. You always knew where you stood with her, and you didn't want to be on her wrong side (just ask her husband). She watched over her children like a hawk, and they grew up to be people of who their parents were extremely proud. She is survived by her husband, James Bruce, of Santa Fe, and her children: daughter Jennifer Taylor (husband David), of Lubbock, Texas; daughter Caroline Bruce, of Roswell; and son John Bruce (wife Clarissa), of Iowa City, Iowa. She is also survived by grandchildren Ashley, Grant, and Brooke Taylor, as well as many long-time, loving friends in New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and California. A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Of the short time I was able to know Sharon, I loved her from our 1st meeting. She would always warm my heart when we were able to visit. Together we shared the love, of our children's love for each other. John and Clarissa. It is obvious she was a great Mom. She will be deeply missed, but we trust she will be watching over us always. She will be just memories away. God Bless her. Kortney and Viginia Kotz
