Jimmy was born on July 16th, 1990 to Jeriann Turk and Jeff Knowlton. He passed away on November 3rd, 2012 in Taft, CA while attending a race at Honolulu Hills Raceway in support of breast cancer.
From the minute he was born he loved motorcycles. From going to the river bed to watch the "voom vooms", to getting his first 50cc at the age of 5, to watching MX on TV, his love for MX was just amazing. He knew who was riding what bike, who got picked up by what sponsor, and which MX rider was dating who. He would have been a great motocross commentator.
Jimmy is survived by his mother, Jeriann Turk (Chris); his father Jeff Knowlton (Jennifer); brother Cameron Knowlton; grandmother Mary (Terry) Simpson; grandmother Jill Brown (Randy); grandfather Jerry Pearson; aunts Deneen Battles and Justine Knowlton (Anthony); uncle Russell Simpson (Denice); cousins Kendra Battles, Taylor and Madison Penaflor, Brandy, Summer and R.J. Simpson, Connor McCarthy and Ashlen Neiger; numerous aunts, uncles and second cousins, as well as motocross families.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his uncle Jimmy Knowlton; grandfather James Knowlton; cousin Michael Blythe; great-grandmothers Joyce Baker and Ruth Blythe; and great-grandfather and great-grandmother Frank and Marie McElroy.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 10th at South Valley Community Church, 1054 E. Clark Avenue, Santa Maria.
In lieu of flowers and cards, a memorial fund has been set up at any Rabobank location under "The Jimmy Knowlton Memorial Fund". A BBQ fundraiser will be held on November 18th from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM in the CVS parking lot in Orcutt.

I'll miss you greatly jimmy. I always enjoyed your company and dedication to riding. Always pinned! We raced our first race together at the Santa Maria speedway for the halftime show of monster trucks, and rode for years together after that. You were a loving friend and you will always hold a place in my heart. I imagine your riding a endless trail full of doubles, triples and woops. Stay pinned and watch over me buddy. Jimmy you always made me laugh and smile. You were an inspiration to many of us that rode with you at the track. I always knew you were out ripping with us when i'd hear that YZ250 of yours pinned tryn your hardest to clear every single jump big or small which of course you did! Keep smiling and telling your Jimmy stories. We all loved them even when they seemed a lil far fetched! Tell Nathan hello and I hope you are Ripping Heaven's Moto Play Ground!

To the Knowlton and Turk families, we are so very sorry for your loss of such a loving person of your family. Jimmy will always be remembered by us as a fun loving guy that could light up any MX track he was on. He brought a lot of joy to our family's motocross memories of Moto Club, CCMX, and Zaca Station. A life that was taken too young from this earth. Ride on Big Jimmy #48 in heaven and we will see you again some day.

my cousin..how sad my heart is knowing you are not here with us today. I have spent the last week remembering the times we spent together.
