Julio Santana Obituary
Julio Venegas Santana, 82, of Santa Maria, CA passed away peacefully on Sunday June 24th at Marian Medical Center with family by his side.
Julio was born July 7, 1929 in Conemaugh, Pennsylvania to Ramon and Julia Santana. The family moved to Guadalupe, CA when Julio was a baby. He attended Guadalupe School. He worked hard in the fields and local gas station before being hired at Martin Marietta with the reprographics group on March 21 1960 where he retired May 31, 1991. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather (Papa), uncle, brother, and friend who was loving and caring. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Juanita, daughters Liz Smith, Martha Santana, and Sylvia (Mike) Smith; sons Julio, Jr. (Lisa), and Anthony (Ann Marie); granddaughters Mandy Smith, Mindy Smith, and Megan Santana; grandsons Eric Santana, Connor Santana and Dylan Santana and three great-granddaughters. He is also survived by sisters Engie (Pedro) Arias, Helen (Joe) Razo, Sara Navarro, sister-in-law Angie Santana and brothers Raymond, Richard (Anna), and Carlos (Susanna). He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Lou Santana, brothers Louis Santana and Jesse Santana. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm followed by a Rosary at 6:00 pm at Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary on Thursday June 28th, 2012. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Louis De Montfort Church on Friday June 29th, 2012 at 9:30 am with burial to follow at the Santa Maria Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary, Crematory and Memory Gardens.
