Manuel Perez Obituary
1920 - 2008
Manuel P. Perez, age 88, passed away peacefully February 17, 2008. Manuel was born January 22, 1920 to Felipe and Maclovia Perez in San Andres, Jalisco, Mexico.
Manuel moved with his family from Sunnyvale to the Santa Maria Valley in the 1930's and attended Santa Maria High School. He met and married Leandra Loroña in 1942. After serving in the United States Army during World War II, Manuel was honorably discharged in 1946. He returned to Santa Maria, finding work as an auto mechanic, which he would continue until his retirement in 1985. In his retirement, Manuel enjoyed gardening, visiting with family, watching his grandchildren grow, and an occasional trip to the Chumash Casino.
Manuel is survived by daughter Yolanda Inguito and her husband Bill, of Guadalupe, California, son Dean Perez and his wife Terry, of Reno, Nevada, and daughter Debra Condrack and her husband David, of Bradenton, Florida. His sisters also survive him; Margaret Tagupa, Mercy Tagupa, Carmen Alvarado; and his brother Philip Perez; his sister-in-law Gloria Acosta; grandchildren Bill Inguito, Jr., Scott Inguito, Miller Condrack, and Mackenzie Condrack; and numerous nieces and nephews. We know that he loved us, one and all!
His wife of 59 years Leandra, his mother and father, Maclovia and Felipe, and his brothers, Jess and Martin, preceded Manuel in death. Join with us in thanks that Manuel is with his loved ones in Heaven.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2008 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm, with a Rosary recitation at 7:00pm at Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary. The officiant will be Monsignor Colberg for the Rosary and Mass. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 22, 2008 at 10:00 am at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, with graveside service immediately following at the Santa Maria Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marian Medical Center Foundation (1400 E. Church St., Santa Maria, CA), in memory of Manuel and Leandra Perez.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary and Crematory.
