Robert Ontiveros Jr (Bob)

Robert Ontiveros Jr (Bob), a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and lifelong resident of Santa Maria, passed away on March 13, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. He was born on March 1, 1957 to Robert and Lydia Ontiveros and attended Santa Maria High School before enlisting in the USMC. As a private in the Marines, Bob was stationed in Okinawa, Korea and Vietnam. He was extremely honored and proud to be a veteran.

Bob was honorably discharged in 1978 and returned home to work at his family's restaurant, Casa Maana. His passion for the restaurant business led to him owning Brick's Restaurant where he was famous for the $2.99 breakfast special. During his spare time Bob loved to be outdoors. He was known by many for his love of hunting, fishing, camping and playing slow pitch softball. He would take hunting trips to Colorado with his dad, family and friends. When he would return, he was always proud to bring a deer and make jerky to share with his grandchildren. He was constantly BBQing in his backyard, at the Elk's lodge and with the American Legion. Bob lived life to the fullest and was loved by so many.

He is survived by his wife Irene, children Robert Ontiveros III, Esperanza Ruiz and Carlos Ruiz, grandchildren Cayla and Robert Ontiveros IV, Monique and Ashley Sandoval, Krista Cano, Devonne, Destiny, Seth and Angelina Ruiz. As well as parents Robert and Lydia Onitveros, and siblings Anthony Ontiveros, Ciria Garcia, John Ontiveros and Jason Ontiveros.

His family has organized a celebration of life, which will be held in Nipomo at 150 North Dana Foothill Rd. on Sunday, March 27th from 12:00pm-5:00pm. A small military service will take place at the Santa Maria Cemetery on Monday, March 28th at 11:00am. If you have any questions feel free to call (805) 878-8221.
