Mary Hankins

Mary Frances Hankins - SAVANNAH - Mary Frances Hankins, 87, was received into the hands of God on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. Mary Frances was born in Jenkins County, GA. She was preceded in death by her father Eddie Lee Cosby, mother Lena Colley Jarriel, brother Jesse M. Cosby, sister Gladys Jarriel Blackburn and daughter-in-law Kimberly Jacqueline Hankins. Mrs. Hankins retired after 32 years with Southern Bell, beginning at the Butler Avenue office on Savannah Beach. She volunteered at and donated several phone company artifacts to the Tybee Lighthouse and Museum. She is survived by her sister Ruby Wilson, daughter Caroline H. Boone (Jim), sons Hank Davis Hankins and Frank Gordon Hankins (Janet), and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews of whom she was very fond. The funeral is 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park East. Remembrances may be made to her long-time church, Trinity Chapel United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 1203, Tybee Island, GA 31328.
