Carol Gobar Obituary
July 31, 2017
Passed away on July 31, 2017 at the age of 67 after battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia for 8 months. She was preceded in death by her father, Leander Gross. Carol is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michel; son, Sean (Angelyn) and daughter, Meghan (Matt Czech); four grandchildren, Hunter, Mya, Brady and Scarlett; her mother, Lucille Gross; brother, Larry Gross and sister, Sherry Gross. Carol received a BA degree in psychology and spent many years helping the severely, persistently mentally ill. She loved exploring cultures and spending time traveling all over the world. She is greatly missed by those who knew her. A visitation will be on Sunday, August 6, from 2 - 6 PM and Monday, August 7 from 10 - 11 AM followed by a funeral service from 11 - 12 at the HOLCOMB-HENRY-BOOM-PURCELL FUNERAL HOME; 515 Highway 96 in Shoreview, MN. A celebration of life will be at the family home on Monday, August 7 following the funeral service. Gifts in Carol's memory in lieu of flowers may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Minnesota, 1711 Broadway Street, Minneapolis, MN 55413.

Carol and I worked on Tech's newspaper together in high school. I remember her as being perceptive and hard working, obviously qualities she used to help many. You all have my deepest sympathy and are in my thoughts and prayers.

We were friends in high school. Wish I had kept in contact. She was the brightest light in any room. Carol brought sunshine with her everywhere and will be missed by those who shared her life. Many prayers to the family and friends.
