David Evans Obituary

David William Evans

Sauk Rapids - David William Evans of Sauk Rapids died at only 45 years young due to a motor vehicle accident while driving his Harley Davidson Motorcycle on July 28th, 2020 in St Cloud, Minnesota. David was born on December 19th, 1974 to Karen L Evans (Schuller) and Evan (Pete) Evans of St Cloud.

David graduated from Tech High School in 1993. He then worked at various construction companies, trade jobs, and trucking companies, including Andy's Towing and Knife River Concrete where he truly loved his work and finally found his home.

David took pride in working outside with Boy Scouts and found incredible joy taking friends and family fishing and hunting. David loved many things, especially when it came to working with his hands and on cars. He was always seen fixing something or finding something to fix. He enjoyed life outdoors by hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, and grilling. Plowing and pulling people out of ditches, which lead to many great friendships, is where David found happiness. David's greatest joy was spending time with his family and helping people. David will always be known as the man to call when in need. He will forever be remembered as a family man, friend, caretaker, strong work ethic, courageous character, dependable, and all-around great man. David's drive to help people proceeded after death by donating his organs.

David reconnected with the love of his life, Christy Evans (Skelton-Schrempf) late 2013 and was then married on October 4th, 2014 at The Waters Church in Sartell. They shared almost six beautiful years of love and memories that will forever carry on.

David is survived by his wife, Christy, daughters Alexis Evans (St Cloud) and Sariah Skelton (Karrina DePas- St Cloud), and son, Daryn Evans (Inver Grove Heights); parents Karen and Pete Evans (St Cloud), sister Geeta Evans (Chuck Schoeneberger- St Anthony), brother Don Evans (Nicki Evans- St Cloud), nieces Bethany Evans (St Cloud), Isabelle Evans (Duluth), Arielle Evans (St Cloud), Brittney Whiting (Ohio), nephew John Kunkel (St Cloud) great niece Mya Whiting, brother-in-law Jon Burke (St Cloud), with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. David is preceded in death by grandparents Regina and Archie Griffiths, Don and Pat Schuller, and aunt Christine Frenzel.

Details on a celebration of David's life are being determined at the moment. We will release information about the service in the coming days.

David's family sends their deepest thank you to the officers of MN Highway Patrol, Sherburne and Stearns County Sheriff's Departments and the men of Andy's Towing.

Join David's family and friends in a Celebration of Life on Saturday, Sept.12th from 1-4 PM at the Sauk Rapids Municipal Park, 1003 River Ave N, Sauk Rapids MN. Please bring your favorite stories or memories of David

I don’t know what I could write that could take away the pain and sorrow of losing your loved one. What I do know is how happy and in love David and Christy felt for each other! My prayers are with you Christy and your family and friends.

We remember as childhood friends Peter and his family. It was an honor to hear that Pete and his wife named their son David after our brother. Blessings of peace to your family Pete and especially to your David's wife.

Karen, Pete, Don, Geeta, Christy and family,
This is the hardest condolences to write. I am so sorry for your loss. Some people become saints after death, but David was a saint while he was living. Loving, caring, and giving encompassed his whole being and defined who he was. He would do anything to help anyone and his love for everyone was evident. He knew no strangers only friends he hadn’t met. I knew David since his birth so I knew him like my own sons. He was a friend my son’s and they loved David. His smile brightened the room, his contagious laughter and his love of life exuded from him. I loved talking to him, hearing his thoughts and ideas and loved his happy voice as he called out to me. He was everything that was written and more, there are not enough words to describe how precious he was to me and so many others, he touched our hearts and lives like no other and we are all devastated that he was taken so young. There are so many memories and stories that will live on inside all of us as we witness all the gifts he so generously bestowed on all of us with his presence. My heart is so deeply saddened for his family as they begin this most difficult journey of living without him. The world became a darker place the day David passed. M love to all of you and may his wonderful memories give you comfort. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
