Our beloved Mother, Grandma, Great Grandma & Sister, Marcella McCalla, age 90, passed away peacefully Wednesday at home surrounded by loved ones. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Becker United Methodist Church in Becker. Rev. Karen Bruins will officiate and burial will be in the Becker Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Becker and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church.
Marcella was born Oct. 19, 1922 in Becker to Fred & Emma (Hamacher) Haberman. She married Russell McCalla on Feb. 14, 1948 in Becker. Marcella worked for Federal Cartridge & Hoffman in Anoka. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and the lottery, trips to the casino, spending time with her family, and playing games with her grandkids. In 2005 she moved to Apple Valley, MN where she lived the rest of her life.
Survivors include her daughters and sons, Lois (Dale) Powell of Walker, Marcia (Danny) Whitt of Rosemount, Elaine (Richard) Wiener of Apple Valley, Larry "Butch" (Annette) McCalla of Ramsey, and Arnie McCalla of Oak Grove; sisters and brother, Alice Hoffman of Anoka, Flora (Willie) Gavin, Shirley (Darrell) Olson, and Lewis (Barb) Haberman all of Becker; seven grandchildren, Denise Edlund, Darren Powell, Melissa (Tom) Kenninger, Stacy Braun, Tom Batters, Robert McCalla and Amber McCalla, and seven great grandchildren, Ryan & Luke Edlund, Jacob & Abigail Kenninger, Tylor, Dakotah & Jayden Braun. Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell; great grandson Scott Edlund; and six brothers & two sisters.
Memorials are preferred to Vision Loss Resources or Fairview Lifeline.
