Robert Wesley "Bob" Howard

1939 - 2023

Robert (Bob) Wesley Howard, 84, of New London, Ohio, passed away on October 31, 2023, after a period of declining health. Raised in New London, Ohio the son of John (Jack) Louis and Thelma Alice (Brotherton) Howard. Mr. Howard had been employed at the American Ship Building Company for 18.5 years and retired from the Pioneere Career and Technology Center of Shelby, Ohio where he taught welding to Junior and Senior high school students and Adult Education for 28 years collectively. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years and a member of New Pointe Community Church of Millersburg, Ohio. On October 1, 1976, Robert was married to his wife of 47 years, Nancy (Beckwith) Howard who survives. Also surviving is his daughter Angela Kessinger of Big Prairie, Ohio, and son Robert (Ellen) Cutlip of Little Hadham, United Kingdom. Four grandchildren Shelby (Chance) Miller, Kaylea Kessinger, Jessica (Anthony) Miller, and Logan Kessinger. Seven great-grandchildren Hayes and Harvey (Shelby), Jayda (Kaylea), Adalynn, Madalynn, Rhett, Beau (Jessica). Bob has three children from his previous marriage Robert W Howard Jr, of Collins, Ohio, Rodney Howard, of Norwalk, Ohio and Terri Bazzill, of Norwalk, Ohio, and six grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Hubler, sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Bud French, sister and brother-in-law, Miriam (Mimi) and Robert Luxon, and brother, John Howard.
