Donna Myers Obituary

HAMPTON — Donna Leslie (Parnell) Myers, 67, of Hampton, died Monday, May 18, 2009, at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born April 7, 1942, in Gloucester, Mass., a daughter of Rebecca (Gray) Parnell of Hampton and the late Robert G. Parnell.

Donna graduated from Gloucester High School with the Class of 1960, and after raising her son, enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard.

In addition to her mother, with whom she resided, family members include her son, Michael S. Stutz and wife Brenda of Exeter; her sister, Linda Cilluffo and husband Salvatore of Hampton; two grandchildren, Lee and Stacey Ellis; two great-grandchildren; her aunt, S. Jean MacLean of Gloucester; her uncle, Richard Parnell of New Hampshire; her nephew, Christopher Cilluffo of Sunland, Calif.; her niece, Dawna J. Cilluffo Esq., and her fiancé, Franco Anzini, of San Jose, Calif.; and her dear friends, Doris and George Chapman of Newmarket.

WE REMEMBER: She served for more than 15 years as a lab technician and Medical Corpsman 1st Class, receiving her pharmacy training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. She served at Base Boston, Cape Cod Air Station, Mobile, Ala., and Kodiak, Alaska.

After her retirement in 1997, she moved to New Hampshire and was employed at the former Ames Department Store in Stratham. She was an avid NASCAR, Red Sox and Bruins fan and especially loved her dogs. She was a member of Hampton's American Legion Post 35.

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, followed by services in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. i had the pleasure of working with donna at Ames and enjoyed the way she would joke around and be there if i ever needed someone to talk to, i heard about her passing from another fellow Ames employee and am very saddened at her loss, she is now looking down apon us and giving us guidence. god bless donna

I was saddened to read of Donna's passing. As a childhood friend and fellow graduate of the class of 1960 at Gloucester High School, I offer my condolences to the family. I remember all the good times at your house on Wheeler Ave and the Friday night parties. May your memories sustain you.
