Barbara Fowler Obituary

Barbara Jane LaGasa FOWLER Barbara Jane LaGasa Fowler, 86, passed away peacefully in her Bellevue home on May 15, 2012. Bobbie was born on February 25, 1926, the great-granddaughter of Tacoma pioneers and the last of the LaGasa sisters. A lover of tennis, jazz, dancing, Great Danes, convertibles and garden ing: old rhododendrons, geraniums and daphne, she was, in her time, an ardent skier, golfer, and tennis player. The highest points of her life were her wonderful 50 years as wife to Doyle "Brud" Fowler, mother to Dayle, Hod and Jay, and grand mother to Jed, Carie (Mrs. Eric Antonelli), Evan and Kelsey Fowler. Bobbie was a founding incorpora tor of PONCHO, served as a trustee of Virginia Mason Research Center, member of the Child Hearing League, Junior League, Seattle Historical Socie ty, Seattle Garden Club, Sunset Club, and Seattle Tennis Club. She attended Stadium High School, was a life long Husky and sister of Kappa Kappa Gamma. For over fifty years she oversaw the growth of her family, her friends and neighbors and the Bellevue community from her family home on Killarney Way. Her family wishes to give special thanks to all of her wonderful care givers in her later years, including Amie, Mariam, many close visit ing friends and supporters, and Evergreen Hospice. A private burial will be held at the family plot at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Mary's Place, 314 Bell St., Seat tle or the charity of your choice.
