Carla

To me, Dave epitomized the meaning of brotherhood. During the summer leading up to my freshman year at UW, he was responsible as anyone for my choice of Zet Psi. I looked up to him, and he always made me feel comfortable in his presence. Later, we would run into each other from time to time around Ballard. We'd share a memory and a laugh. I shall miss that laugh.

Carla and Dana,

When I first met your family through Ken, I felt an immediate connection. You made me feel so welcome. Dave was so kind to me and his laughter will be something I will never forget. Such a genuine, fun-loving man, with a true love for his family is how I will always remember him, not to mention his sweet smile. His life was too short, but I know that he is with his son so that brings peace to my heart. Much love,

Suzie Junell

From Ken Thomas:
We had such a great time travelling...all of the laughs and great times will be with me forever. I remember all of the great times we had on the road...too many to even mention. Dave, You left us too soon! You meant a lot to me. Rest in peace my friend, Ken.

Dear Carla, Dana & family,
When I heard the sad news about David my first reaction was to say, not another loss! It seemed so unfair for you, Dana and everyone that loved him. My second reaction was to know that he is at peace. I truly believe that there is a world beyond this world where every soul finds peace - that there is a life beyond this life where love goes on and on. I wish there was a way I could take away the insurmountable pain that you have all had to endure. Please know that I wish you comfort and so many hopeful thoughts for you to hold in your hearts. Love the moment, love each other and love more than ever...those you have lost. Our deepest sympathy to you all.

Carla and Dana
The years have passed quickly since the old House and that apartment the last summer down toward the village. Remember Dave slept on the couch/bed, and had to put the cover on each day so manager wouldnt know we had more than two residents. Then there was those days as real estate moguls. Dave was a dependable friend and a valued partner. His friendship, smile, and laugh will be always remembered.
My thoughts and prayers for you.

Carla,
I'm so sorry to hear about David. I've always felt that one who has suffered a terrible tragedy in their life should be immune to another. When we run into each other let's have coffee or perhaps a glass of wine.
You are an incredibly strong person.

Carla and Dana,
We are so sorry to hear of David's passing. I think about you every day. Wherever and whenever I go anywhere I pass by your home. I just took Carolyn to the airport to college and I well remember how she used to cuddle up on your lap. You were a great help to me when my brother in law died suddenly in 1993 and I'll never forget your warmth and care for our family. Take care and I do hope you'll call me when you're ready--our number is still the same...
Love and prayers to you all,
Jim, Kay, John, Laura and Carolyn

Carla and Dana:
I was 10years old when David and Kate
were born. Pat had no experience with
babies, so Mom helped . David was a screamer-later it became laughter.
I'll miss his smile and his Folkins
charm.
