Gloria DeSantis Obituary

Gloria Patricelli DeSANTIS 11/11/25 ~ 11/30/08 In Memoriam Our beautiful wife, mother and sister Gloria DeSantis passed away suddenly and peacefully on November 30, 2008 in Renton where she had lived for 38 years. She was the daughter of Michael and Josephine Patricelli who immigrated from San Marco la Cotola, Italy. She was an accomplished soprano soloist who studied music in New York. She freely gave of her time entertaining the troops during World War II at the USO and Military hospitals. She was also called upon several times to sing at Victory Square in downtown Seattle to help raise money selling war bonds. She was very active in the Sons of Italy lodge and served as secretary. While in New York, she met her future husband Michael DeSantis who later followed her to Seattle where they were married in 1948. She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Josephine, sister Rosina Patricelli Miles, brothers Aldo (Pat), Fred (Judy), Michael and Robert. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years Michael DeSantis of Renton, three daughters, Janette (Dennis) Steckler of Friday Harbor, Chuckie DeSantis Kelly of Renton, and Denise (Bob) Jewett of Snohomish. Also surviving her are her brother Bud Patricelli, Renton and sister Dolores Ashbaugh, Seattle; and sister-in-law Faye Patricelli. Her legacy includes seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Rosary was held at Faul-Stokes Mortuary in Renton with Funeral Mass at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Renton. Burial was conducted at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent. Now she will be singing with the Angels.
