Helen Elizabeth Almvig

Helen Elizabeth ALMVIG 12-17-1920 to 9-10-2002 Helen died peacefully and without pain on September 10 after an 8-year battle with osteoporosis, Parkinson's and congestive heart failure. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Bill. Helen was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a past member of Inglewood Country Club and enjoyed Husky and Mariner games. Helen was very grateful for her friends, caregivers at Faerland Terrace and especially at Lavender House with Janice and Ward Brown. She is survived by one sister Marge Baldwin in Iron River, Wisconsin, two children, David Almvig and Barbara Kirk (husband Judd) and three grandchildren, Lisa Kirk, Jon Kirk (wife Darbie) and Tai Almvig. A Memorial Service will be held at University Presbyterian Church (4545-15th Ave. N. E., Seattle) on Wednesday, September 18 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Lavender House, 911 Walnut, Edmonds, WA 98020, Providence Hospice of Snohomish County, 2731 Wetmore Ave., Suite 500, Everett, WA 98201 or, Medic One.
