LeRoy Anderson Obituary

LeRoy W. ANDERSON LeRoy was born in Seattle, September 22, 1921 to Nels and Marie Anderson. He went to be with his God on March 20, 2007. LeRoy grew up in the Mount Baker district and proudly graduated from Franklin High School in 1940. He attended the University of Washington for a year before joining the United States Army in 1941. LeRoy served his country in Europe in WWII and also enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean War in 1950. He married the love of his life, Patsy, on Christmas Eve, 1941 and they spent 65 wonderful years together. His working life was in the grocery business, first with Darigold for 15 years and then with several local food brokerage firms. LeRoy always referred to himself simply as a "peddler", but we're sure that many store managers ended up buying way too much. He had a keen eye for real estate and in 1956 moved the family to 4 acres and a 1906 farmhouse on the eastside. For the better part of 30 years he was most definitely the "king of his castle". LeRoy was a gregarious and opinionated guy, and was passionate about his beliefs, especially politics. He was a redneck democrat and pity the republican who tried to win one with LeRoy. He retired at age 60 and enjoyed traveling with the Belvedere Trailer and Evergreen Winnie Itasca motor home clubs. He is survived by his wife, Patsy, daughter, Laurie (Lou), sons, Dale (Kathy) and Gary (Teri). LeRoy is also survived by his grandchildren, Abby, Michael, Leanne, Matthew, and Lauren, and great-grandchild, Max with another due to arrive in April. At his request, a private service for the immediate family will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery at a later date. The family suggests remembrances to donor's charity of choice. "Now I lay me down to sleep, a bag of peanuts at my feet". We'll all miss you so much Dad. Friends are invited to share memories and sign the family's on-line guest book at www.flintofts.com. Arrangements by Flintoft's Issaquah Funeral Home.
