This was an incredible loss to the Renninger family, and to Washington State. I turned 25 years of age the day after the very profound loss of Mark Renninger. After learning about Mark, taking the day off of work to attend the memorial and procession in Tacoma, WA - I was incredibly inspired by this man, for me to be all that I can be. I want to be a police officer and work in the honor of this Sergent. I will probably never be as good as an officer as Mark, but I will certinly try as hard as I can. I wish I could have met him, and congradulated him for all his works and for protecting the people of and the state of Washington. God Bless you Mark. May God remain with you and your Family during this profound loss.

To say that my thoughts and deeply heartfelt condolences go to all law enforcement officers, and most importantly, to Sgt Renninger's family seems to simply not say enough... through this pain they are now experiencing is a wee bit of light - that Mark was admired and thought so very highly of by many(!!). A Hopi Indian Prayer
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the shining glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle Autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there.
