Martha Yeh Chang Wang

Our beautiful, loving mother Martha Yeh Chang Wang died of cancer on December 27, 2014, surrounded by her family at O'Connor Hospital in San Jose, CA. She was born in Taipei, Taiwan, on April 3, 1943 to Walter Chin Han Chang and Chin Tsu Yeh Chang.

Martha spent her youth in Taipei and immigrated to North America in 1965, first to Halifax, Nova Scotia, then to Grand Forks, North Dakota, Midland, Michigan, and finally settling down in the Seattle area in 1980. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Frank Chiou Tong Wang, her five children Gigi, Gene, Gary, Grace, and Gregory, and daughters-in-law Jamie and Katie, who were all with her in her final days. She is survived by five grandsons: Maxwell and Zachary Darrow, Jordan and Jackson Wang, and Miles Remmel. She is also survived by four sisters, two brothers, many loving sisters- and brothers-in-law, dozens of nieces and nephews, and people who loved her from every corner of the world.

She will be remembered for her loving kindness, spirit, strength, beauty, sage advice, love of flowers (especially roses and orchids), and fantastic cooking. Martha had an infinite capacity to love, and her greatest joys were spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family.
