Pi Miller Obituary

Pi Miller

Beloved husband, father, godfather, uncle, grandfather, coach and mentor. Pi was born 4/4/1928 in Strasburg, ND and died 11/8/2019 in Seattle, WA, four days after having a stroke. He was the youngest of 7 children, born to Martin and Elizabeth Miller. After high school, Pi served in the U.S. Army. After his discharge in 1948, he attended the University of North Dakota and then began a distinguished 39-year career at Procter & Gamble as a District Sales Manager. He was an expert at building relationships and trust with his customers and mentored many of his employees. He leaves behind an extraordinary legacy.

In 1978, Pi was preceded in death by Claranella Wald Miller. They were married for 26 years and raised their 4 children in Huron, South Dakota, Spokane and Bellevue, Washington Pi is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Beverly, and his children Julene Miller, J Dan Miller (Lori), David Miller (Kristin), JoEllen Miller and his step-children, Norm Parish (Joan), Greg Parish (Michelle), Kristi Renkert (Greg). He also had 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

Pi was an avid golfer and loved living on the Inglewood Golf Course in Kenmore for 31 years. He and Bev also spent 25 winters in Palm Desert, where he would golf five days a week. He proudly hit a hole-in-one twice but especially enjoyed the camaraderie he shared with his golf buddies. He was outdoorsy and athletic, snow skiing until he was 79, coaching his daughter's soccer team and bird hunting with his sons on many trips to North Dakota. His last hunting trip was just two weeks before his passing.

Pi also was an eager spectator of all his grandchildren's activities. He shared with everyone his love for God and his country.

Special thanks is extended to the talented, caring staff of Harborview Medical Center who took such good care of him.

Pi was a great neighbor and friend. He certainly was apparent he loved country, family, friends and neighbor. We enjoyed our community time we spent with him. He was an upbeat guy and we will miss seeing him drive up Inglewood Terrand and his his smile and wave. If there was a problem he was there to help us solve it. Pi will be greatly missed, but his memory will go on through his family legacy. Heartfelt sympathy to dear Bev and family. Love, The Isenhath's

We enjoyed Pi as our neighbor and his friendly manner. It was obvious his love for country, neighbor, family, and God. If there was a need in the neighborhood, he was ready to pitch it. He was welcoming and friendly to all of us. We will miss seeing him driving up Inglewood Terrace and always having a waving hand and smile. Heartfelt sympathy for the family, but a wonderful legacy he left . Love, The Isenhaths'
