Born in Milton, MA on October 20, 1915 to Archie M. and Margaret Nielson Blodgett, he had one sibling, Merriam "Bonnie" Blodgett. In 1979, Mason married Sandra Coonley Blodgett and in 1987, at the age of 71, his twin daughters, Kathryn and Sarah, were born. During World War II, after attendance at the Harvard Graduate School of Business and the Army Industrial College in the Pentagon, he served as an actuary for the 8th Air Force stationed in England and commanded by General Jimmy Doolittle. He was later assigned to the Air Force Materiel Command at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. Mason was a member of First Church, Christ Scientist in Burlingame and served the church in many capacities. In 1976 he joined the Green Hills Country Club and he spent many enjoyable hours there. There will be a celebration of his life on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Congregational Church of San Mateo, 225 Tilton Avenue, San Mateo, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the AAMGA Educational Foundation at 150 South Warner Road, Suite 156, King of Prussia, PA 19406 or Arden Wood, 445 Wawona Street, San Francisco, CA 94116

Mason was my family's insurance agent for what appears to be his entire career. Did not realize that he started his company the year I turned 16 -- and, of course, was insured by him with my first car 3 years later. My Dad and Mother were very fond of Mason and very interested in his family. BTW, the company still covers my Mother's trust.

My condolences to his wife and family. He will truly be missed in the Steventon family.

With sympathy for your loss,

(Sharon) Lynne Steventon
