Elaine Kudlick Obituary

Elaine Marshall Kudlick

January 4, 1934 - May 6, 2018

Elaine Marshall Kudlick (nee Graves) passed away May 6, 2018, in San Francisco. Born in Norton, Kansas, on January 4, 1934, Elaine grew up in the Los Angeles area. She attended Compton Junior College and graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 1956 with a BA in Education. In 1984, she earned a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Elaine taught in public school for 33 years, mostly in San Francisco. At various times, she taught Kindergarten, First and Second Grade. Elaine had a beautiful singing voice; it was said to have had the complexity of cabernet sauvignon with a lilt and modulated grace that rolled easily off the tongue with a whiff of determination and authority. Elaine loved gardening, hiking/walking and the arts. Elaine is predeceased by her husband and true love Michael. Her sister Suzanne passed May 7, 2018. Elaine is survived by her brother Marshall (Renee), son Douglas (Pamela), grandsons Alex (Kacie), Dennis and Matthew (Kamila), as well as two great-granddaughters. A celebration of life will be held on June 9, 2018, at 10:00 AM; please RSVP at [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to San Francisco Art Institute.
