Forrest Shigley ~
In 1972, Principal Shigley was on the interviewing team when I applied for a teaching position in the Belmont School District. Two years later, he was my principal at Cipriani School for 3 years.
In 1984, I was again fortunate to be on his staff at Nesbit School. Principal Shigley always encouraged his teachers to be open to finding alternative ways to challenge students to learn. His staff felt comfortable as he supported their efforts to create environments and design activities that enhanced learning.
Principal Shigley successfully guided his staffs. He knew what to say to de-stress concerns and have teachers continue to focus on education.
Bud Shigley was truly a cherished mentor during my teaching career. I´ll miss our post-retirement noon chats on his deck when we shared our blessed lives.
