Ida Oswald Halling

Ida Oswald Halling Age 94, died on September 21, at home, of age-related illness. A psychiatric social worker and educator, she taught for 25 years for the School of Social Welfare, UC Berkeley, and pioneered uses of video recording in social work education. She was first married to Worth Oswald, an economist who died in 1947, and later to Bjorne Halling, a labor organizer who died in 1979. She will be greatly missed by stepdaughters, Karen Halling Burch (Thomas) of Victoria, BC, and Randi Halling D'Agostino (Mike Bellas) of Orange, CT; grandchildren, Karli (David), Soren and Kristofer; great-grandchildren, Thea and Britta; by cousins in her native Texas; and by friends.
