Rest In Peace

We knew each other when we were very little. She was just 3 years older than me but I followed her around like a puppy. She was kind and patient and had that laugh that would burst out of her like a kettle boiling over! We were not in contact for years but had recently reconnected and spent time at Christmases. This last Christmas 2018 she seemed to be so happy and really enjoying the single life. Her laugh and zest for life had
come back and I had planned to spend time with her after my retirement. I am heartbroken. She was one of the best and most engaging people I ever knew and I will miss her for the rest of my life.

I am heartbroken and in shock. How can this precious and cherished soul be gone forever?
I came across these beautiful words by Helen Keller and I thought it fitting.
" What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us. "
Goodbye, Jamie. Life has to end. Love doesn't.

Jamie and I met for the first time when we were 9 & 10 years of age. We are first cousins but had only exchanged letters before our first meeting. My only sibling and both parents have passed (Jamie's parents too) and Jamie's sister is distant so we declared ourselves sisters-by-choice. Her mother was one great lady, loved her daughters (and luckily, me too). Jamie had the biggest heart you could find, in a "tiny but mighty" body. We've lost a kind and loving lady. For Jamie and all of us who miss her, may we fund peace. Remember her for her kindness and love of animals.
