Katherine was a generous, understanding and caring friend. I lived in Sonoma, near her property in the late 80´s. We shared a love of horses and dogs!

I wish I had known about Katherine Black's passing earlier. She was a wonderful and caring person who I got to know by her dedication and commitment with The San Francisco SPCA. Wish I had been able to see her before her death. Peace and love, Katherine.

To dear Katherine,
Although I lost touch with you when I moved away, I will never forget what an amazing generous friend you were to me. We had many good times together in Sonoma and I will always remember - you were sort of my guardian angel. Thank you for your concern and caring friendship. To your family, Donald and Warren I remember you the few brief times we met. I am so very sorry for your loss. I was Katherine's neighbor on Lomita across from her pasture, where she let me keep my horses. We have all lost a beautiful, kind and generous person. That is how she will be remembered.

Warren Hellman was a grammar school, high School and College classmate and lifetime friend, and I know sister Nancy, but I am do not know how Katherine's father, I.W. Hellman fits in the Hellman family. I.W. Hellman was Warren's great grandfather and founder of Wells Fargo.
Never the less, my heard goes to Don Black and the family for the loss. I miss Warren.

My sympathies to Katherine's family and to my uncle Don. Katherine and Don were so very gracious to me as a teenager when I visited them. I fondly remember those weeks I stayed with them. She was a great lady. ~Rebecca Kirk

Good bye Katherine. I have thought of you often over the years. We were related by dogs. Your Mark married my Pele who gave you Target who gave us Pepe and so on. What fun. I have some good memories.
Love to all of you, Katherine's family. Carry on, be strong and take care of the dogs and horses.
Love, Mike Arnstein
