Lorraine McKinley Obituary

Lorraine McKinley
May 29, 1922 - September 23, 2023
Lorraine, a third generation San Franciscan, passed away on September 23rd at the age of 101.
Lorraine was born in San Francisco on May 29, 1922. She was the youngest of three children born to Rudolph Jr. and Olive Mohr. She grew up in a home full of laughter and love with her brothers Rudie and Warren in Jordan Park. She graduated from Washington High School. Given the war, Lorraine attended Marin College, meeting lifelong friends. She met her husband Howard, while he was on leave in the Navy and after a marriage proposal at Coit Tower were married in 1947.
They were married for 74 years and were the personification of a devoted and loving couple. Howard and Lorraine lived life to its fullest, but were first and foremost dedicated to their family.
Lorraine volunteered throughout her life for all causes and organizations that supported her family and others in need.
Howard and Lorraine were members of the St. Francis Yacht Club. They enjoyed cruising on Caz II in the Delta to Tinsley Island and up and down the west coast, from San Diego to the San Juan Islands.
Lorraine especially enjoyed the family cabin in Cazadero. The cabin will always be the centerpiece of her family. She received such joy from watching past and current generations of her family grow together and she took particular pride in seeing her offspring embrace the values and importance of family.
Lorraine had many friendships built in San Francisco, Marin County and Stockton. These include, the Tiger Creek group, the Ranch, and her beloved "Angels" in Stockton.
Lorraine loved each member of her family unconditionally and would make each feel as the most important person in the world. She felt the same for all of her friends and their families. She was a selfless person who always gave of herself for the benefit of others. She was an inspiration and source of guidance and support to her family and everyone she touched. She was a beloved mother and "Mommier" to her grand and greatgrandchildren.
Lorraine was predeceased in 2021 by her husband Howard. She is survived by her children Scott; Robyn Digesti (Laurence); Marsha Quinn (James); and John (Denise) her grandchildren: Alyson, Matthew, Marc, Eryn, Ryan, Allen, Erik, Laura, Katie, Stephanie and Jeffrey, along with twelve great grandchildren who held a special place in her heart.
Lorraine was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
Family services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorraine's name to the Cazadero Community Club, P.O. Box 3, Cazadero, CA 95421; or St. Coleman's Guild, P.O. Box 75, Cazadero, CA 95421.
