Richard George Lippi

Passed away peacefully on Father's Day, June 21, 2015. He was comforted in his moment of passing by all of his children and their families, Don (Joanne), David (Vandana), Diane, Fred (Monica), Mike, Joey (Dave) and grandchildren Stefanie, Kristin, Ryan Miller, Ryan, Gabriela and Dominic. This was fitting since he lived his life for his family.

Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rita, his cherished mother and father, Helen and Frederick, and brothers, Kenneth, and Roy. He is survived by his loving twin brother Bill (Amelia), youngest brother Larry (Pat), and their dear cousin/sister Barbara Ruck, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A true San Francisco native, Richard attended Lawton Grammar School, and Polytechnic High School, where he was an avid member of the Poly High Marching Band and an All-City second baseman on the varsity baseball team. He joined the US Navy at the tail end of WW2, then after a short term in the service he settled down to work at Langendorf Bakeries and creating a wonderful family.

A man without pretension, if you had the good fortune of meeting Richard, our Dad, you knew you were heard, likely walked away with one of his great stories, received a genuine smile and a piece of his tender heart that you will forever remember.

Friends may visit Friday, June 26 at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave. Daly City from 5:00pm and are invited to attend the Rosary Vigil following at 7:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday June 27 at 2:00pm at St. Gabriel Church, 2559 40th Ave. at Ulloa St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pathways Hospice, St. Joseph's of Notre Dame High School in Alameda, and The American Cancer Society.
