Joseph Mehrbrodt Obituary

MEHRBRODT-Joseph A. Mehrbrodt, former Glendora resident and Covina business owner for over 40 years suffered a massive heart attack on October 4, 2008 and passed away on October 10, 2008. Joe was born in Hammond, Indiana on May 20, 1938. Soon after the family moved to Romulus, Michigan. After high school Joe came to California in 1957 to attend Cerritos Jr. College and pursue his passion for football. The team was always proud of the fact that they played in the 1957 Jr. Rose Bowl. After college Joe returned to Michigan and married Janet (his beloved wife in 1961). In 1963 they moved to California and Joe continued in the insurance business and began his own business in 1966. In 2001 Joe and Janet moved to San Clemente full time fulfilling Joe's dream of living at the beach watching the pelicans soar. Joe leaves behind Janet his best friend and loving wife of 47 years; daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Lacey, son, Micheal (Jaimie), grandsons, Mike Jr. and Nick Mehrbrodt, granddaughters, Katie and Kristie Lacey and granddaughter Jensie (Jeff) Flower. He is also survived by hi s mother, Lorraine (89) his brother Rick and sisters Sandi and Bonnie, and preceded in death by his father Joe and his brother Bob. Joe was loved and respected by family and friends and the special bond with his football buddies. To the many who passed through his life, he loved you all and he knew you loved him too. A memorial service will be held November 9, 2008 from Noon to 3:00 p.m. at the clubhouse at Palm Beach Mobile Home Park, 101 Palm Drive, San Clemente, Ca 92672. In lieu of flowers the family wi shes for donations to be made to one of the following charities listed below.
