Ron "RC" Cummings, 74, of Fairland, IN passed away October 30, 2021, at home with family by his side. He was born on May 17, 1947, in Bowling Green, Kentucky to the late Glen W. Cummings and Joyce A. (Walker) Eberlein. He was one of 2 children.
Ron served in the US Navy and then worked for Ma Bell for a majority of his career as an "ole phone man". He lived in Indianapolis most of his life moving to Fairland, Indiana in 2009 and retiring a few years later. He married Joyce on October 28, 1998, in Savannah, Georgia. They recently celebrated 23 years of marriage.
Ron is a long-time member of AA, and recently celebrated 33 years sober and was a member of the Dry Dock Club in Shelbyville, IN. This program saved his life, and he was forever grateful. Ron was also a member of the Shelby Masonic Lodge #28, in Shelbyville, IN, for many years. Ron was also a member of the Shelby Masons Lodge for many years.
Ron is survived by his wife, Joyce E. "Joycee" (Hutchinson) Cummings; son, Andy Cummings (Melissa); stepson, Andrew Lucas (Danielle); daughter-in-law, Donna Cummings; cousin, Dennis Evans who is like his brother; grandchildren, Jeff Cummings, Trisha Engel and her husband Will, Sam Cummings, Abby Cummings, Thomas Cummings; step-grandchildren, Mercedes Jeffries, Roger Jeffries; great grandchildren, Desiree, William III, Chloe, Hallie, Haven, Lincoln, Hensleigh; and his kitty cats, Baby, Tom, and Jerry.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Joyce; and son, Curt Cummings.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 4, 2021 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel. Service will begin at 2:00 pm. Burial to follow at Washington Park Cemetery East. Arrangements: Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Dry Dock Club, 62 Third St., Shelbyville, IN 46176
