Virginia Hamrick Obituary

Virginia Hamrick
Virginia Byers Hamrick, 91, of Oak Island, died on Oct. 11, 2017. She was born on Jan. 25, 1926 in Statesville, the daughter of P.W. and Mabel Byers.
She was a member of Oak Island Presbyterian Church, member of Oak Island Senior Citizens, Golden Rod Chapter Eastern Star, and Brunswick County Nurses White Hats. She was a registered nurse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, police officer Broadus Hamrick; one brother, Harry Byers; four sisters, Violet Morrison, Pearl Eagle, Grace Cope and Crystal Julian.
Survivors are sons, Billy Fain Hamrick of Oak Island, Broadus Dean Hamrick and wife Kim of Richmond, Texas; grandsons, Major Bradly Hamrick of 3rd Army Command and Jacob Hamrick of Richmond, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Makayla and Easton Hamrick; sister, Mrs. Gerald Allen of Shelby; brother in-law, Glenn Julian; sister in-law, Hazel Byers; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made in Virginia's name to the Children's Home Society of North Carolina, PO Box 14608, Greensboro, NC 27415.
