Barry Gotts Obituary

Barry Joe Gotts, 68, of Shelby, Mich., passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2022. Barry was born April 27, 1953 at Gerber Hospital in Fremont, Mich. to Fredrick and Catherine Gotts.

He resided in the Hesperia area most of his youth, where he had many wonderful memories of friends and family members. In recent years he moved to the Shelby and Hart areas.

Barry was employed for part of his young life by Deans Grocery Store in Hesperia, Shaw Walker in Muskegon, then Kmart in Norton Shores.

Barry loved feeding and watching birds, fishing and hunting with his father and brothers in his youth. He enjoyed swimming and inner tubing down the river when he was young and camping. His true passion was mushroom hunting. His little dog Muggsy went everywhere with him when he was young. He really enjoyed history and was great with numbers.

Barry is survived by his sister, Sandra (Joe} Steinhauer; many nieces and nephews; and numerous lifetime friends. A special thanks to the staff and owners of the Fessenden home and the Rose Home for their friendship and care. Barry was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Tom and David; sisters, Carolyn and Marlene.

Cremation has taken place and a private ceremony will take place in the spring at Vida Weaver Park in Hesperia. You may leave a message for the family at www.harrisfhome.com Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home, Shelby.
