Azelie Durst Bowerman

SHREVEPORT, LA- Mrs. Azelie Durst Bowerman passed away at Grace Home on Thursday, July 26, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home on Sunday, July 29th from 2 until 4 p.m. Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 30, 2007 at Greenwood Cemetery on Stoner Avenue. Officiating will be Rev. Guido Verbeck.

Mrs. Bowerman was a native and lifelong resident of Shreveport. She graduated from C. E. Byrd High School and attended the University of Arkansas and Centenary College where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Mrs. Bowerman was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was a former member of Sequela Study Club.

Mrs. Bowerman was preceded in death by her husband, Max Bowerman, parents, Ruth Baker and Juan Vincent Durst and her brother, Juan V. Durst, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Johnston and her husband, Jim; grandson, Marshall Johnston; sister, Ruth Calk; sister-in-law, Betty Durst; and several nieces and one nephew.

Pallbearers will be Jim Johnston, Marshall Johnston, Greg Bradley, Jim Kirkland, Jerry Webb and Gary Abrams.

The family requests that memorials be made to Grace Home.
