I was sorry to read of Mr. Kilpatrick's passing. He was my supervisor at the old Confederate Memorial Hospital accounting office back in the late sixties. I was a young girl and it was my first job. I liked and respected him. He was a fine man. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Paula, My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. But what a day of rejoicing Charley and J.D. are having together. We know that 'love lives on forever in each memory and thought of those who've shared our lives and all the happiness they've brought. Love lives on forever--it will never fade away--for in our hearts, our loved ones are with us every day.'
The Lord promised He would not leave you comfortless: He will come to you (John 14:18). Looking forward to that day when we will all be together again. Love to you and your family.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Charles Kilpatrick. our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Charles. And to Charles it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Korean War while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Charles we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,452 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Charles’ family and loved ones.
