Masayo Binford Obituary
BOSSIER CITY, LA - The family of Mrs. Masayo Ashikawa Binford will receive friends for a time of memorial on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 2:00pm at Boone Funeral Home, Bossier City. Masayo was the eldest daughter of the late Susumu and Rieko Ashikawa. She was born on December 26, 1931 in Hara, Japan. Masayo passed away on October 3, 2006 in Bossier City.
Masayo was the loving wife of Robert C. Binford. She met her husband in Japan where he was stationed in the Air Force in 1959. They were married in Japan in 1960, where they had their first son. The family moved to the United States in 1961 where the couple had three additional sons. The family eventually settled and retired in Bossier City.
Masayo was a gifted artist and enjoyed drawing, painting, and quilting and was an excellent cook. She devoted her life to raising her 4 sons. She was the proud mother of Robert S Binford, MD, BSAE, MSAE; Oswald S. Binford, MD, BSME; Carey M. Binford, BSME; and Timothy M. Binford, CCP, BS Biology.
When Masayo's last son entered high school, she went to work at Louisiana Downs where she worked until she retired. Afterwards, she enjoyed being a "Pink Lady" volunteer at CHRISTUS Schumpert Medical Center in Bossier City.
She is survived by her husband, 4 sons, 9 grandchildren, and 5 siblings in Japan.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Boone Funeral Home

I haven't seen you in so many years, but I've heard of your career success. I just happened to see your mom's obituary online today. I am so sorry for you and your family's loss. I know she was a very special lady. I remember ya'll living around the corner from us when we lived on Waller Street. My love and prayers go out to you and your family. God bless you.
