Merryl Fields Obituary
BLANCHARD, LA - Services for Merryl "Mel" Taylor Fields will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City, LA. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens North, Blanchard, LA. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Rose-Neath Bossier.
Mel was born January 27, 1952 in Shreveport, LA to Clayton and Barbara Taylor and passed on June 8, 2015 in Blanchard, LA. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Emily Fields.
Mel is survived by her husband of 45 years, Roger Fields; sons, Stacy Fields and wife, Stacie, Ben Fields and daughter, Sheri Fields, all of Blanchard, LA. She is also survived by sisters, Pepper C. Trangmar of Tyler, TX, Claydean Hicks of Haughton, LA, Ida Pennison of Morgan City, LA and Shirlet Curtis of Benton, AR; grandchildren, Lance Christian Fields, Devon Michael Fields, Allison Fields; step-grandchildren, Michael LaBelle, Billy Olds, Gabbie Adams and step-great granddaughters, Lyric Adams and Michaela Labelle.
Honoring Mel as pallbearers are Clayton Taylor, Asher Waren, Christopher Balentine, Zane Ehrlinspiel, David Hensley, Bubba Roy, Tyson Ellis, Troy Stuckey and Stuart Holloway.
The family would like to give a heartfelt "Thank You" from the bottom of their hearts to Laurie Hall, Jessica Watlington and Shawn Caster.

Mel will always have a special place in my heart for she was a very caring and fun babysitter a kid could ever ask for. Those memories of spending time with her and her family while growing up, are priceless. She played the role of an aunt to me and I'm truly thankful for that.
