Donald Smith Obituary
Springfield, IL—Donald Lee Smith, 59, of Springfield, died at 7:49 pm, Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Evelyn's House Hospice in St. Louis. He was born May 6, 1961 in Springfield, to Donald Eugene and Ellora Ann Thompson Smith. He married Donna Marie DelValley on August 27, 1983 and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Amber (Chas) Clinton of Chatham, Brittany (RJ) Flener and Brianne (Aaron) White both of Springfield; 4 grandchildren, Kristan, Damian, Athena and Persephone; two brothers James (DeeDee) Smith and Michael Fonville, both of Springfield; his childhood friend, Robert Stark of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kristan Marie Smith; infant sister and step mother- Arlene Smith.
Donald was a US Army Veteran. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing, building model airplanes and ships and playing video games.
He worked as a truck driver.
Visitation: 1:00 - 3:00 pm, Saturday, January 23, 2020 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 3:00 pm, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Reverend John David Pickett officiating.
Cremation rites will be accorded after services.
Memorial contributions may be directed to his Go-Fund-Me account.
